About Kelly
I am a lifelong, multidisciplinary artist and also a mother, widow, and dog rescue volunteer. I have won awards and honors, had my artwork shown in galleries and boutiques, and I have a BFA in drawing and painting from The University of Georgia.
After graduation, I continued to pursue education in various art forms, such as kiln-fused glass, metal working, jewelry design and fabrication, gemology classes, textile design, and fashion design, which took me to NYC, where I met my husband.
I took a break from my art career when my children were young, as they have severe food allergies and needed my full attention. We moved back to South Carolina, where I grew up, and unexpectedly, while my children were still little, my husband was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and he passed away.
After my husband's passing, I fully recommitted myself to my art career and this helped facilitate my healing and to develop a new future for myself and my children. I work daily on my art, developing new skills and trying new things.
I love to mix mediums and I have a constant flow of ideas, curiosity and creativity. Texture, mark-making and color are important themes in my art, along with the idea of memories, animals and flowers.
I also have a love of home decor and aspire to create pieces of artisan luxury, such as glass trays, weavings, metal bowls and ceramic vases, to adorn walls, tables and shelves with handmade, one of a kind works of art.
