Horse with Green Background
This painting depicts a horse portrait in neutral colors with a green background. My horse paintings explore color, mark-making, texture and movement.
Acrylic paint on canvas, dimensions: 18 inches by 24 inches, 45.72 cm x 60.96 cm.
My horse collection is inspired by my childhood horse, Fancy, and also inspired by the many horse and equine rescues I follow on social media. One of my earliest memories is of my family's quarter horse, Fancy, breathing on my shoulder and the smell of hay. My Aunt also had a Palamino and I use old family photos of her horse as references for some of my paintings. I took riding lessons in both English and Western styles, but really just prefer to spend time with the horses. My horse paintings explore color, mark-making, texture and movement.
*Note: I leave the sides (edges) of my paintings unfinished, I also do not varnish my paintings (I avoid adding any unnecessary chemicals to any of my work). Finally, I do not have any hanging wire on the back of the paintings so that when purchased, the owner can easily have them framed or display them the way they prefer.
